Rumi Web App

We helped Bridges bring people together with the Rumi app development and accessibility compliance solutions

A way to provide care to people with high functioning disabilities while allowing them to choose from more living arrangement opportunities.

The Client

BridgesMN (Direct)

The Challenge

BridgesMN manages several group homes for people with disabilities. Because Minnesota state law regulates the number group homes in operation, BridgesMN found that competitors were showing preference towards people with high functioning disabilities over the people with severe disabilities. This makes it difficult for the people who most need group home services to receive proper care.

To address the growing problem, BridgesMN wanted to create a way that connected people with high functioning disabilities with in-home care provider roommates (aka Rumis), thus creating more vacancies in group homes for the severely disabled. BridgesMN understood the general technical solution from a business perspective, but sought help identifying the full functionality, optimal platform, and roadmap for deployment.

The Solution

Challenges included identifying how to match two people while maintaining privacy and background check standards, producing a web application with the proper level of ADA compliance for their primary audience, and securing back end information storage.
